44m Superyacht Lumina Launched as Benetti Unveils €100M Expansion Programme

The Azimut|Benetti Group has celebrated the launch of the 44.06-metre superyacht Lumina at its Viareggio shipyard. The yacht is the latest addition to Benetti's successful Class 44M series and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2026.

Launched using the traditional slipway method—a ceremony deeply rooted in Viareggio's shipbuilding heritage and still reserved by Benetti for selected projects—Lumina reflects the shipyard's longstanding craftsmanship and construction traditions.

Designed by Cassetta Yacht Designers, the four-deck superyacht combines contemporary styling with spacious, light-filled interiors. Her layout incorporates engineering solutions designed to enhance guest privacy and onboard comfort, making her well suited to extended cruising.

The launch coincides with the Azimut|Benetti Group's announcement of a further €100 million investment across its Tuscan operations between 2026 and 2028. The programme follows €77 million invested in the region over the previous three years and will focus on expanding production facilities, upgrading infrastructure and safety systems, supporting new product development, and strengthening refit capabilities at Lusben.

Tuscany continues to play a central role in the group's superyacht operations, with production facilities spanning Viareggio, Livorno, Massa and Pisa. According to the company, the latest investment programme is intended to increase production capacity while further advancing its engineering, manufacturing and after-sales capabilities.

The announcement comes amid sustained growth for the Azimut|Benetti Group, which reported an increase in production value from €758 million in 2020 to €1.56 billion in 2025, underscoring the company's continued expansion in the global superyacht sector.
